USA Flag

Although one of the youngest, the USA flag is one of the most well-renowned flags, known worldwide as a symbol of patriotism and freedom. At Flagmakers, we have been making handmade USA flags for as long as we can remember, and we count many government embassies as happy customers. The United States flag is a powerful symbol of freedom and democracy. For many people, it represents everything that is good about America, from its history to its founding principles.

Product Description

When purchasing a USA flag, it is important to make sure that you are buying a high-quality flag. With Flagmakers, you can rest assured that you are.

It is also important to consider the size of the flag when purchasing one. Make sure to take measurements of the area where you plan on displaying the flag before making your purchase.

We offer hand-sewn or digitally printed USA Flag flags for mounting on flagpoles or waving with pride at your next event.

Choosing hand-sewn national flags is highly recommended. A 155gsm woven flag fabric has been used in the Navy and other military branches for many years - so you are in good company!

To create the USA flag, our skilled flagmakers cut panels from a roll of the fabric of the required colours and sew them together.

We also manufacture dye-sublimated USA Flag national flags in our UK manufacturing facility using state-of-the-art textile printing systems and polyester flag fabric. For anyone searching for a good value national flag that's durable and strong, knitted polyester is an ideal choice.

Each of the USA national flags that we produce includes a rope headband and toggle, ready to attach directly to a flagpole. For extra durability, the three exposed sides of the flag have a double hem and a triple hem on the fly edge.

We offer a variety of finishes, so please make sure you choose the right one for you or contact our team if you have any questions.

A Brief History of the USA Flag

The first official flag of the United States was adopted on June 14, 1777. The design of the flag has changed several times over the years, with the most recent change happening in 1960. The current design features 13 horizontal stripes representing the original 13 colonies, and 50 stars representing the 50 states. The meaning of the colours on the flag are: red for courage and hardiness, white for purity and innocence, and blue for vigilance, perseverance, and justice. Flag Day is celebrated on June 14th in honour of the adoption of the first official United States flag.

The Meaning Behind the USA Flag at Sporting Events

The USA flag is a reminder of the country's past (and hopefully future) sporting victories. In particular, the USA has historically been strong at the Olympics, dominating track, field, and basketball, among other sports, and you’ll often see the flag flying at sporting events.

There are many different interpretations of what the colours and symbols on the USA flag represent, but there are a few specific meanings that are particularly relevant to sports. The red colour is said to symbolise courage and sacrifice, while white represents purity and innocence. Blue is used to represent loyalty and perseverance.

These qualities are particularly important on the sports field, both for individual athletes and for teams as a whole. When you see the USA flag flying at a sporting event, remember that it stands for more than just one country - it represents a set of values that everyone can aspire to.

The meaning behind the American flag at sporting events can be one of patriotism and pride. Many Americans feel connected to their country through sport, and flying the flag helps create a sense of community among fans.

Flying the American flag at sporting events isn't just an expression of patriotic fervour; it's a way of life.
